Why Yoga?

Each one of us seeks happiness today. Our activities are directed towards the materialistic happiness. It means we want to reduce the miseries and pain. We try to seek happiness from the objects of enjoyment i.e. like to taste different dishes, watch movies etc. It means we try to get happiness through the sense organs. To seek more and more happiness and comfort human being invented so many great things which were seemed impossible once upon a time. Science and technology changed our lives tremendously. But this science and technology brought internal as well as external pollution also. Minds are also polluted today. People have plenty of money but not the happiness. They need to take sleeping pills, energy drinks, laxatives, pain killers and so on. The list is endless. Ninety-five per cent diseases today are lifestyle and psychosomatic diseases. We have no solution for those diseases.

Happiness is inner state of mind. Therefore it needs to come from within. We cannot go back to caves but our ancestors’ have given us a beautiful way that is YOGA, which can give us permanent happiness. However, today westerners are taking the maximum benefits of our Yoga but we are just ignoring it.
